Last night I was at CrossFit Varese for the live announcement of Open Wod 20.4 and one more time I learned a lesson from the CrossFit philosophy that can be applied to everyday life. Actually I also had the confirmation that Dave Castro is a sadistic guy but this is another story.
Beside any technical consideration on this WOD, which has been designed undoubtedly to put in trouble the legs. This WOD is a clear example on how also when we’re super confident on our skills, there might be something to complicate things. This is the lesson from 20.4 open I’ve learnt.

What I want to say is that also if one feels comfortable with the things he is asked to do, sometimes such things go a little beyond our real capacities and we may be induced to give up. This actually happens any time we think “ok, I’m done” without even try to accomplish our duties until the last minute.
The point is that we can never feel calm because any thing, also those who we judge as the more banal, may turn out to something that goes beyond our possibilities also if we live our life as an Rx life. Humility is a must because it allows us to analyze thing in a better way, taking into account the possibility of fail or to not reaching our goals and find ways to overcome difficulties and get more prepared the next time.
We can never know what we are finding behind the corner and it is a must to consider that we could find something that also if seems affordable, may push us over every expectations. What counts is to not be disappointed by this but instead to take it as a point to start another step of our personal growth. As athletes as well as men.
