Filling a gym with people is not difficult, the difficult thing is to make sure that these people do not leave after a while. If it were so easy we would have all the gyms full of happy people and outside the door there would be a queue. Indeed it is usually the opposite as many understand only when it is late.
Unfortunately, to make a gym work, but also a company and even to promote themselves, there is neither a magic wand, secret techniques nor miraculous methods. To make this happen you need to know the right tools, learn to apply them and adapt them to various situations.
This means knowing well the terrain on which one moves, as well as one’s own abilities and limits because a micro-enterprise or a small association, cannot think of building a structure as a multinational company since the resources, both human and financial, are what they are, but needs people with various skills who are able to hold the oars of the situation.
The basis of everything is knowing who we are, where we want to go and how we want to get there. I’m not saying it’s simple but it’s one of the tools that allows people to focus on a goal. Another thing to know is that you have to do a lot of work and that it is often necessary to make choices and sacrifices and not expect things to happen on their own or that you just need to think about them to make them do it on their own.
Someone claims to have ready-to-apply solutions on the fly and I can only congratulate these people because I am not able to and every time I face a new project to relaunch, expand, open or redevelop a Box, I have to start all over again because the situations are never the same from time to time.
Every time I have to try to adapt everything to the project and especially to the people, while others, who do the same job, seem to be able to solve everything by simply snapping their fingers. Now that people in general are lazy and don’t want to be told that you have to roll up your sleeves to get results, it’s a fact, but using this lever to sell them something, even if it often works, I find it trivial and childish.
I am a curious by nature who has been taught to always deepen everything and this has always helped me so I don’t fall into the lure of those who say they work by the pool, they fly on private jets, they sail on the sea with exaggerated yachts and they want to teach me how to become like them.
I am one who digs beneath the surface and as I earn my money with a lot of effort, I avoid giving it to someone who has nothing to give me except for the promises he already knows he cannot maintain. Like some TV salespeople of the 80s.
I don’t know but I believe that every person is different and that every situation in which he finds himself is different, so how is it possible to offer everyone the same solution? Where do we put the individual and his attitudes? But above all, how can everyone make themselves understood if everyone uses the same language? And here I stop.
However the point is that nobody has magic recipes and secret methods and that without the desire to work hard and the right motivation the results do not arrive even if you go to get Kotler and Mc Carthy in person.
