Did you ever note that once acquainted with CrossFit and community of the box, you start to act as if you were at the Box also in everyday life? This is because, beside the benefits of physical activity, the CrossFit methodology and the way classes are set, give you a method that is universal and can be used to afford any situation.
Think about it: difficult as a WOD may be, you learn to scale it and deal eith it step by step. No matter how much tine it takes but you have to get to the end at some point and once accepted this fact you start by break it up in parts in order to make it apparently less hard and, the amazing thing is that at the end you finish it.
WOD after WOD you start unavoidably to face also the problems you face in your daily life with the same approach. If first you were one of those who used to “hide the dust under the carpet”, in the sense that you put off things because you didn’t want to really tackle with the logic consequence that first or later those things would have recurred, now you simply face them like a WOD, no matter how difficult it may be. Using the same approach you start break them down in smaller issues ant then you fix them.
This is one of the biggest lessons that I have personally learned from CrossFit: don’t delay and don’t cherry pick WOD, or problems, only because some of them are too hard to accomplish. And this worth a lot, or at least, it worth a to me because I’ve learned that once fixed, the problems never come back and are in the book forever.
